Introduction
SocioAesthetics is a symposium on aesthetics, culture and social life.
Aesthetics is no longer the preserve of art historians and philosophers of art. Changes in society, culture, economy, urban dynamics and everyday life, push us towards considering the aesthetic components of traditionally non-aesthetic domains.
What is at stake here is not only the proliferation of new cross disciplinary topics making way for change, but also the prospect of fundamental rethinking essential modern issues and notions well beyond clear cut definitions such as mass and fine, determinant and reflective, creative and functional.
The symposium will be run as a high-level conversation between scholars from many different areas.
